Symptoms Of Menopause - What To Consider Normally

Menopause can be elating or discouraging, depending on how you view it. The signs of menopause are different from one woman to the other, but these are commonly the signs to look for. If you show any of these signs and it worries you, it's always a good idea to see your doctor about it.

#1 - Uneven periods. This is more prominent in healthy women who have experienced regular periods in their youth. Some periods are much heavier than normal while others are nonexistent. The duration of periods may also experience some anomaly - while a period usually lasts around five days in healthy women, the start of menopause may cause periods to last as brief as one day or as long as ten.

Consider that menopause doesn't come about all at once - the initial stage of menopause, called "pre-menopause," usually occurs at least a few years before the full onset of menopause. During per-menopause, you'll only be encountering the symptoms little by little. The symptoms don't come full power until much later.

#2 - Hot flashes. Everyone knows the feeling of shy - it's like all the warm blood in the body ascends to the face and neck area. Hot flashes are a regular symptom of menopause, and can persist for as short as less than a minute to a complete half-hour.

#3 - Depression and tension. The drop in estrogen levels that accompany menopause may cause some women to feel sad or anxious for no evident reason. This can be one of menopause's more grave symptoms, as it may bring about more serious psychological or emotional problems if left untreated. With this symptom, it's good to enjoy friends, family, or a support group close by.

These are only some of the more familiar symptoms of menopause. There are other symptoms that are less common but are however experienced by many women, plus they can be quite saddening.

But as previously stated, you can choose to visualize menopause as a blessing instead of a curse. For instance, if you were alert about sex in the past because you wanted to avoid pregnancy, menopause can open the doors to more pleasurable, worry-free sex life. Even if hormonal transformations can make the act a little more painful, but they are remedies that can be bought over the counter.

In general, though, it's always best to talk to your doctor when your menopausal symptoms concern you. Menopause affects different women in different manner, so your own special case might require some special care.
